Role Summary:

The National Book Festival welcomes thousands of visitors to the Washington Convention Center and our volunteers play an integral role in the success of the Festival. Volunteers are needed in many roles to support the Festival including greeters, information volunteers, lost & found assistance, ushers and more. Opportunities are available all day long and broken in to minimum of 4.5 hour shifts.


Commitment:
  • Commitment of working at least one 4.5 hour shift on August 12, 2023.
  • Commitment to attend a manditory 90-minute virtual briefing session in advance of the Festival.
  • Commitment to pick up Festival t-shirt at the Library of Congress in advance of the Festival.

Requirements:
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Compliance with all volunteer conduct and performance guidelines, as outlined in the Voluntary Services Agreement.
  • Ability to independently travel to and from the Washington Convention Center for scheduled shift.
  • On-time arrival to and successful completion of scheduled shifts (regular call outs, no-shows, or late arrivals may result in an inactive volunteer status).
